Department of Plant and Animal Production
The main purpose of the Plant and Animal Production Department is; To train technical personnel who have sufficient knowledge and practice about the production, quality, control, preservation, preparation of plant and animal products, and who can meet the research and development, support and other personnel needs of the public and private sector.
Our department, which is within the body of Adıyaman University Kahta Vocational School, continues its educational activities with its Field Crops and Horticulture programs. The language of instruction is Turkish and the education period is 2 years. Theoretical lectures are taught in large-capacity, projected classrooms, computer-aided, by expert lecturers. Applied courses are held in the cultivation areas and Hasancık Application areas within the Kahta campus where the Kahta Vocational School is located. In addition, we have laboratories approved by the Ministry of Agriculture within the Kahta Vocational School.
Students who successfully complete all courses for a total of 120 ECTS, have a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully complete their internship for 30 working days, graduate with the title of "Technician". Graduates of the department can continue their education in the relevant departments of the Faculty of Agriculture and get the title of Agricultural Engineer by getting enough points from the DGS (Vertical Transfer Examination).
Department graduates; They can work in Provincial and District Directorates of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Research Institutes, Municipalities, Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, Agricultural Sales Cooperatives, Agricultural Development Cooperatives, private sector enterprises and their own plant and animal production enterprises.
